Description
Established in 2005, the Children’s Sanctuary Incorporated (CSI) is an international organization dedicated to protecting the welfare of Cambodia’s most vulnerable children, women, youth, and families based on universal human rights principles. It has been operating a number of human rights-based projects including the Sanctuary Home Project, Education Support Project, Vocational Training Project for Cambodian Vulnerable Women, Community Development Project, Single Mothers Project, and Health Project. These projects are aimed to make a difference and a better change in the lives of orphaned, abandoned, vulnerable, underprivileged, and marginalized children, youth, and women in Cambodia and to ensure that their rights to education, health, and development are respected, protected, and fulfilled in accordance with the United Nations’ International Human Rights Covenants and Millennium Development Goals.

CSI is currently looking for a potential candidate to fulfill a full-time position of Assistant to Manager to provide technical assistance and consultancy to Country Manager in overseeing and developing all CSI projects in Siem Reap Province.

Working Hours and Days: 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm from Monday to Saturday
Salary: Competitive depending on qualifications and experiences

Duties + Requirements
Assistant to Manager

Duties
  • Reports to Country Manager or Country Director/President as requested
  • Is responsible for providing technical assistance and consultancy to Country Manager
  • Assists Country Manager in day-to-day operations and administrative work
  • Is accountable for managing Siem Reap-based CSI bank account and doing bookkeeping
  • Is responsible for arranging payrolls for all staff and monthly allowances for Sew Wat and ESP students as well as Single Mothers
  • Is in charge of preparing staff rosters
  • Allocates the food money to the cooks for weekly shopping and checks invoices and receipts and quality and quantity of food for children, staff, and single mothers
  • Makes sure the office and the CSI center premises are cleaned and well organized
  • Ensures that the CSI children take their lessons at regular time
  • Organizes and reviews an effective curriculum for the children
  • Helps the nannies teach the children and creates more educational activities for the children
  • Assists in teaching the CSI children and monitoring teaching staff and volunteers
  • Monitors and evaluates the CSI children’s, ESP students’, and Sew Wat students’ behavior, respect, attendance, and study progress
  • Assists in solving all CSI children and staff’s problems
  • Assists all the single mothers and ESP students when they need help
  • Deals with all visitors and volunteers
  • Keeps the CSI database updated
  • Prepares monthly reports to relevant ministries
  • Sends monthly study and exam results of all CSI children and ESP students to Country Manager
  • Is responsible for checking CSI children’s emails sent by their sponsors, interpreting them to the children, and making a prompt response to their sponsors
  • Works on behalf of Country Manager during his/her absence
  • Other duties as reasonably required by the management.
Requirements
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Education, English literature, Business Administration, or other related development fields
  • A Cambodian national with at least two-year experience in administrative work or educational/vocational training program development for most vulnerable children, youth, women, or families with local or international NGOs
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
  • Be high patient and enthusiastic to work with children, youth, women, or families from diverse and difficult backgrounds
  • High English proficiency (Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability in computer literacy such as Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc) and Microsoft Outlook
